BIMP-EAGA 2022 Exhibition and Conference, Sabah Malaysia

From 2nd August to 4th August 2022, a delegation from Muara Port Company Sdn. Bhd. (MPC), headed by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Fazilah Yassin, participated the BIMP-EAGA 2022 Exhibition and Conference, in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.  

BIMP-EAGA 2022 is the biggest annual Ports, Shipping and Transport Logistics Exhibition and Conference event hosted this year by Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd and Sabah Ports Authority with a theme “Road to R.I.S.E (Resilient, Inclusive, Sustainable and Economically Competitive)”.   It was held with the aim to improve ports’ competitiveness, to promote and facilitate trade and economic development throughout the BIMP EAGA region through transportation and logistics.

The two-day conference featured 25 world-class international business leaders addressing issues related to BIMP-EAGA challenges, solutions, latest innovations, shipping, supply chain and logistic strategies.  About 125 senior executive decision makers from leading shipping lines, shippers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, logistics companies, investors, economists, consultants, ports, port equipment and IT services suppliers attended the event.  

Representing Brunei’s port as one of the invited speaker, Fazilah Yassin, COO of MPC spoke about how MPC excelled throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  His presentation includes a brief overview of MPC, its contributions and assistance towards the Government of Brunei and its surrounding community during the pandemic, its projects as well as future plans.  Also participated the event was the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD).    

Being increasingly recognized among port business leaders and industry professionals, MPC is proud to represent the country of its capabilities in facilitating and expanding Brunei with its overall role in the country’s connectivity with other ports in the region.
