On 13 March 2023, in conjunction with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadhan, about 150 volunteers from the port community came together for a cemetery cleaning campaign at the Muslim Cemetery, Muara Port Area. The cleaning campaign was organised by Muara Port Company Sdn. Bhd. (MPC) in collaboration with the Mukim Serasa Consultative Council and Masjid Setia Ali Takmir Committee.

The campaign was attended by Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman, Acting Village Head of Kampung Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun, and Pelumpong, as the Guest of Honour, as well as the Management and Staff of MPC. Also present were some representatives from the port community, which includes, Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Police Force (Muara Branch) as well as Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (Muara Branch).

Imam Nasehin bin Haji Yahya, Mosque Affairs Officer, led the recitation of Surah Yassin, Tahlil, and Doa Arwah to conclude the cleaning campaign.

Mr. Zeng Caili, Chief Executive Officer of MPC, stated that MPC is proud to have organised this community cleaning support event in collaboration with the Mukim Serasa Consultative Council and Masjid Setia Ali Takmir Committee in line with our corporate social responsibility and core values. The campaign aimed to nurture voluntarism, foster the spirit of shared responsibilities and cooperation among the port community and the people from the surrounding villages.

The event was a great success, and MPC look forward to organising more initiatives like this in the future to promote volunteerism and community involvement.
