Courtesy visit of Vice President of the People’s Republic of China to Muara Port, Cruise Ship Terminal
Tuesday, 22nd October 2024. Muara Port Company (MPC) is honored to host a distinguished courtesy visit by His Excellency Han Zheng, Vice President of the People's Republic of China, as part of a wider program of visits to Brunei spanning from 22nd to 23rd October 2024. This significant event marks another step in the strong collaboration and growing partnership between Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China.
His Excellency was welcomed by Yang Mulia, Dr Dayang Hajah May Fa'ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Economy) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy and member of the board of directors of Muara Port Company, alongside the MPC director and chief financial officer Mr Lyu Guoli, and other MPC management team. The delegation engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening ties between Brunei and China, specifically in the areas of logistics, trade, and port operations.
During the visit, His Excellency was given an in-depth tour of the Cruise Ship Terminal, including a visit to the Cruise Ship Gallery, showcasing the strategic role Muara Port plays in the regional tourism and maritime sectors. The Vice President also observed the operational aspects of Muara Port’s Terminal, providing him with valuable insight into Brunei's growing logistics infrastructure.
A highlight of the visit was the tour of the rice and sugar warehouses, where a demonstration of the newly introduced nitrogen system called Mobile Intelligent Nitrogen Filling Control Management System manufactured by Guangxi Sinograin Storage Apparatus Science and Technology Co., Ltd set to enhance the storage and preservation of essential commodities in Brunei, was conducted. This innovative system reflects Brunei's commitment to ensuring food security and optimizing the efficiency of its supply chain operations.
The visit underscores the significance of ongoing collaboration between Brunei Darussalam and China, with Muara Port serving as a key hub in the bilateral efforts to enhance economic, trade, and logistical connectivity. This partnership is not only beneficial for the development of Brunei's maritime sector but also aligns with the broader vision of both nations to foster regional cooperation and development.
