The Working-Research Visit focuses on (1) learning international best practices in port operation and management including effective management and technical solutions to real-world operational challenges; (2) studying advanced port automation, smart control systems, and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies; (3) exploring opportunities for innovation and improvement within Brunei’s port and logistics ecosystem; (4) strengthening multi-agency collaboration among Brunei’s education institutions, port authorities, government agencies, and operators; (5) encouraging continuous professional development across all participating organisations.
Throughout the five-day programme, the delegation will visit major sites including Beibu Gulf Port Group HQ Exhibition Hall and Central Control Room, Guangxi University, Beibu Gulf University, Qinzhou Automated Port and Sea-Rail Intermodal Center, 80MWp Fish-Light Complementary Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, Fangchenggang Automated Bulk Cargo Terminal and Guangxi Chuanjinuo New Energy Company.
This joint initiative marks a significant milestone in Brunei’s efforts to build a modern, innovative, and internationally connected maritime ecosystem, while advancing broader national priorities in innovation, renewable energy and research collaboration. Through collaboration between the five organisations, the delegation will return with insights that support operational transformation, research excellence, policy alignment, and workforce development.
The initiative further reinforces Brunei’s long-term vision of building a resilient, knowledge-driven, and globally competitive port and logistics sector.
