FTI Delegation Visits Muara Port to Strengthen Brunei–Thailand Trade Links
Friday, 25th July 2025. A senior trade mission comprising 29 representatives from the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) visited Muara Port Company (MPC) on Friday as part of a three-day visit to Brunei from 24 to 26 July 2025. The group, led by Mr Kittivudh Pinyowit, Minister Counsellor of Royal Thai Embassy, included senior executives and members of the Thai business delegation. The visit aimed to explore trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and Brunei.
Upon arrival at MPC’s headquarters, the visitors were warmly welcomed by Chief Operating Officer (COO) Fazilah Yassin. The visit began with an introductory briefing at the MPC Gallery, where the group was presented with an overview of the company’s development and operations since its establishment. The briefing highlighted MPC’s role in Brunei’s port and logistics sector.
The team proceeded to the Muara Container Terminal (MCT), where they observed live operations, including the use of quay cranes in transferring containers from vessels to the terminal. The visit proceeded with a tour of MPC’s warehouse facilities, where the group viewed the company’s advanced storage and inventory systems used for managing commodities such as rice and sugar.
MPC expressed its aspiration to foster stronger logistics and supply chain partnerships with Thai businesses, aiming to improve trade connectivity and operational efficiency between the two countries. By facilitating smoother cargo handling, knowledge sharing, and future investment collaborations, MPC hopes to contribute to the broader economic growth of both Brunei and Thailand.
