IBTE Students’ Visit Continues with Insightful Exploration at Muara Port Company

Thursday, 26th September 2024. The visit from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) continues as approximately 60 students enrolled in the iSkill program for industrial skills qualification (ISQ) visited the Muara Port Company (MPC) on the 24th and 25th of September.

The students were joined by instructors Mohammad bin Nayan and Mohd Raffi bin Ali Nordin from the Khidmat Bakti Negara (PKBN) program, along with several training officers. They received a warm welcome from MPC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wei Jinfeng and Human Resource & Corporate Communication Manager Puan Hjh Azian Hj Mohammad.

During their visit, the students explored the MPC Gallery at headquarters, which highlights the company's development since its inception. This was followed by a site tour of the Muara Container Terminal (MCT), where they observed the operation of quay cranes lifting containers from vessels to the terminal. They also gained insights into how the operating system and digital procedures are managed remotely from the Control Room.

Additionally, the students visited the engineering department, where they examined various types of transportation vehicles utilized at the port. The tour concluded with a visit to the warehouse, where they observed innovative technologies for the storage of rice and sugar.

MPC remains committed to welcoming educational visits and aims to provide a comprehensive and enriching learning experience. The company believes that bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation is crucial. MPC hopes that the students from IBTE will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare them for careers in the industrial sector.
