MPC Honours UTB Students with Meritorious Award for Academic and Leadership Excellence
Tuesday, 16thSeptember 2025. Two outstanding students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) honoured with MPC Meritorious Award during the UTB Excellence Award Ceremony, held at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
The annual accolade, presented by Muara Port Company Sdn. Bhd. (MPC) celebrates exceptional final year students who exhibit not only academic excellence but also leadership and active involvement in extra-curricular activities.
This year’s recipients are Abdul Muíd Al-Qawiy bin Suhaili, from the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architecture programme, and Nadhirah binti Amir, from the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Fashion Design and Technology programme.
The awards were presented by the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education and Chairperson of the UTB Council. Also present at the ceremony was Mr Wei Jinfeng, Chief Executive Officer of Muara Port Company.
The MPC Meritorious Award aims to encourage academic and professional excellence by acknowledging students who strike a balance between scholastic achievement and meaningful campus engagement. MPC expressed hope that the award would not only empower its recipients but also inspire the wider student community at UTB.
