MPC receives delegations from the Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co.Ltd and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
On Thursday October 26, 2023. About eleven delegations from the Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co. Ltd and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China (PRC) at Muara Port Company Headquarter.
The delegations were led by the Deputy Director of the General Office of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Madam Liu Guoye.
The visit was in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP- EAGA) Trade Convention 2023 (BETCON23) that took place from October 25th – to 29th at the Bridex International Convention Hall, Jerudong.
The delegation was given a tour to the Cruise Ship Centre (CSC). The purpose of the visit was to show the Muara Port Gallery of Achievements. The gallery showcases the development of Muara Port from 1970 to the present day with primary focus on achievements and developments such as port throughput, operating income, and employment creation. The future development section showcases the proposed expansion of the new container terminal and further plans on the route between Beibu Gulf Port and Muara Port.
Following the visit, the delegation was brought to Muara Container Terminal (MCT) to observe the vessel operation and container handling from vessel to yard and vice versa. The MCT visit was also to observe container handling at MCT Yard for import containers prior to exiting the port that enters Brunei Darussalam.
Towards the end of the visit, the delegations were brought to Muara International Fish Landing (MIFL) to observe how technology seamlessly integrated into various processes.
The delegations were able to see the development and progress of the maritime and port industry in Brunei Darussalam. The visit concluded with a group photo.
