Port community gathers to spruce up the Muara Cemetery area
Friday 8th March 2024. About 100 volunteers participated to clean up the Muslim cemetery opposite the Muara Port Company (MPC) HQ.
The annual cleaning campaign is an initiative to begin the holy month of Ramadhan and supported by the Masjid Setia Ali Takmir committee and the Mukim Serasa consultative council.
The campaign was attended by Yang Mulia Shaminan bin Haji Abd Rahman, Head of Kampung Kapok, Awang Jumkhairun bin Haji Jumat, Director of Operation, Muara International Fish Landing (MIFL) as well as management and staff of MPC.
Also present were some representatives from the port community, which includes, Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Shell Marketing, Masjid Setia Ali Takmir Committee as well as Brunei Fire and Rescue Department (Muara Branch).
Tuan Imam Nasehin bin Haji Yahya, Mosque Affairs Officer, officiated the recitation of prayer, followed by Bilal Md Asrol bin Hj Abd Rashid to recite the Surah Yassin, Tahlil and prayer concluding the event.
MPC is proud to have organized this community cleaning support event in collaboration with the Mukim Serasa Consultative Council and Masjid Setia Ali Takmir Committee in line with our corporate social responsibility and core values. The campaign aimed to nurture voluntarism, foster the spirit of shared responsibilities and cooperation among the port community and the people from the surrounding villages.
