Seri Mulia Sarjana School Students Explore Muara Port in Two-Day Educational Visit
Tuesday, 7th October 2025. Muara, Brunei – Muara Port Company Sdn. Bhd. (MPC) hosted a total of 148 students and 18 accompanying teachers from Seri Mulia Sarjana School (SMS) for an educational visit held over two days, Tuesday 7 October and Wednesday 8 October 2025. The visit was part of the school's effort to provide students with real-world exposure to complement subjects such as Bahasa Melayu, English, Science, and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
To ensure an engaging and well-organized experience, the visit was divided into three sessions. On 7 October, two groups visited during the morning and afternoon sessions, while on 8 October, a final morning session was held for the remaining students.
Students were welcomed with an opening speech by Mr Li Zhuhuan, Manager of Marketing and Business Development at MPC. The sessions were then led by MPC teams, who guided students through a variety of interactive and educational activities.
The visit featured hands-on learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and encourage participation. Students took part in games such as “Spot the Difference” and “Mix and Match”, while a question-and-answer session kept them actively engaged. A coloring contest also gave students a chance to express their creativity while learning about port operations and the logistics sector.
A key stop during the visit was the guided tour of the Muara International Fish Landing (MIFL), which is operated by a subsidiary of MPC. Here, students gained insight into how the port supports Brunei’s economy and international trade, and the essential role it plays in the nation’s logistics network
At the conclusion of each session, Mr Li Zhuhuan and Hjh Azian Hj Mohamad from MPC’s Human Resource and Corporate Communications Department presented prizes to the top five winners of the competitions. Their recognition of the students’ efforts brought the visit to a joyful close, leaving participants excited and inspired.
The visit was a great success and reflects MPC’s ongoing commitment to supporting education and community engagement. By offering students early exposure to the logistics and port industry, MPC aims to foster awareness and interest in future careers within the sector.
MPC looks forward to welcoming more schools in the future and continuing its role in nurturing Brunei’s next generation through meaningful learning experiences.
