Future Plan


Terminal Expansion

  • The new container terminal has a length of 250 metres and a land area behind the terminal of 16.24 hectares, two new Quay Cranes and the berthing area will be dredged to 13 metres to accommodate 30,000 tons of container vessels.

  • A proposed area of 3.62 hectares has been designated for the purpose of having a free-trade zone (FTZ) under part of the new extended Container Terminal. The FTZ is intended to be a full- fledged FTZ where importing, producing, repackaging, and exporting may be done with ease.


Upgrade Port Equipment

Advanced management methods and modern tools are introduced to improve the port operation efficiency and service level, and enhance the regional influence of Muara Port.


Expand Container Shipping Routes Services

Expand container shipping routes from Brunei to major global markets and to ports in ASEAN countries to strengthen shipping links with neighbouring countries.


Explore the Coordinated Development Model of “Port-Industry-Park

The objective of this project is to attract more enterprises to invest in Brunei and increase local economic development.


Promoting the Development of Brunei’s Fishery Industry

Further improve the infrastructure and supporting services, create an ideal production environment, increase investment attraction, build a fishery industry chain targeting export-oriented industries and promote the development of Brunei’s fishery industry.
