Visit by British High Commissioner to Brunei
The British High Commissioner to Brunei, His Excellency Richard Stephen Lindsay, visited the Muara Conventional and Container terminal on Tuesday, 10th April 2018. During the visit, representatives from both Muara Port Authority (“MPA”) and MPC escorted His Excellency around the ports area while providing information relating to the ports operations, such as the processes involved in carrying out the day-to-day activities, and also addressing any queries raised by His Excellency.
The visit started at the Cruise Ship Terminal within the Conventional Terminal area of the ports, where MPA provided a briefing to His Excellency and the Commercial and Prosperity Manager from the British High Commission in Brunei. MPC then proceeded to bring His Excellency to the wharf area at the container terminal where the process flow for the unloading and loading of containers was shared. This was followed by a stopover to the CFS building to witness the process involved for the entry and exit of hauliers and containers from the container terminal. The final stop of the visit was the new billing centre located on the second floor of the CFS building. Here, His Excellency was able to have a look at the newly renovated billing office prior to the transfer of operations from the previous billing counter at the container terminal gate.
MPC then escorted His Excellency’s vehicle out of the terminal, taking the opportunity to utilise a route that would pass through the major areas of the terminal, such as the reefer container storage area, the engineering warehouse, and the container yard.
